Tolkiens entry

In a hole in the ground there lived a Hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty wet hole filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry bar sandy hole, with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit hole, and that means comfort.

At the entrance of this hole was a small round like door painted neatly in green, as you entered this door you could see the walls were painted neatly with a musky green colour, the fireplace built with blackwood and covered in ashes from recent fires, windows surrounded the room letting in enormous amounts of light.

My Country

I love my home Australia

the colours of green and gold

 surrounded by sparkling blue water

a community that never grows old

her mysterious out back country

 of dry sunburnt sweeping plains

i love her cocktail sunset

her days of teaming rains

A mass of native animals

 her awakening of the birds

the glistening of the flowers

 to adventurous for words

the dark blue misted

mountains hot UV rays of sun

her on going sapphire coloured sky

but some things must be done

Although we’re in a drought

the loging is expanding

as tear drops fall from our horrored eyes

our country is demanding

for we love our country dearly

but look what we have done

it’s time to put an end to it

for living treeless is no fun

As grey clouds start to gather

 lightning strikes thunder roars

raindrops fall to end a drought

 wild flowers blossum with applause

a sharing loving country

one of many in the dome

but most of all my favourite

 the country i call home

Are you there god it’s me Margaret, is an interesting and very girlie book.
The book is about a young 12 year old girl called Margaret who moves to a new town  and desperately wants to fit in with all of her new friends…….. But her new friends have a religion. Margaret doesn’t feel that she can tell her friends that she can talk to god and not have a religion at the same time. During the book Margaret and her new friends form a group to talk about boys, getting their first periods and bras. While Margaret is juggling whether to tell or to not tell her friends that she doesn’t have a religion.
Enjoy reading a book that makes you feel a lot more comfortable about yourself and lets you imagine what’s really happening in Margaret’s life.

Juggling With Mandarins

The book juggling with mandarins deals with a 12 year old boy named Pip whos dad is very competitive and expects Pip to be better than he is, a brother who treats Pip like a nobody and talk to him as if he is a litle child and most of all his love life, with the girl next door, his best friend Katie.
My favourite part of the book was at the very end when Pip was competing in the rock climbing competition. It was like his whole life was going the way he wanted it to go.His brother was treating him with respect, his father was proud of him and let Pip do a sport with out any competition, and Pip was doing something for himself for once not for anyone else around him.
I would have to say that Rob would have to be my favourite character in the book because he understands what Pip is going through and knows that Pip is doing rock climing for fun not for a competition. Rob is a kind caring person who respects peoples dicisions and shows Pip that he needs to do things for himself not a family member or a friend for himself.
I thought that by the end of the book Pip and Katie would be together but it turned out that they still werent talking and they acted as if they didnt even no each other.
I believe that book is called Juggling with Mandarins not only because Pip learns how to juggle but also through out the book he is juggling with problems in his life. He gets better at juggling so tries to juggle with more than two then when he juggles more balls more problems pop up that he has to deal with.
